My apologies to Devo. Here's an interesting article that indicates there is now proof that modern man mated with Neanderthals. I have read that the Neanderthals were larger, stronger, and probably more intelligent than modern man, and that the reason they died off is that they were too conservative. That is, they would not accept change, such as using the modern tools that modern man was using, etc. What really made the Neanderthal different was that they were completely without conscience, sort of like a race of really huge, clever gangbangers.

Now, I wonder how the Christians who insist on refusing to accept real scientific facts will react to this wonderful news ...

Just thought it was interesting.

Nephillim?

Genesis 6:
4There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
5And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

I would like to say, that when we gather together, either in person or over a long distance phone line, we do so for comfort in most cases. I want to announce myself guilty of the above and say this to all. "It is a good reason to join together and discuss things." Two brothers on this forum I have spoken with recently are really, true brothers that make me so glad I have their wisdom I can always fall back on. They know who they are and I thank you both for helping me.
Shalom and hugs brothers!

Yep sorry, Yashar (Jasher). Mentioned but not included in the canon. Supposedly the 1840 version is most "authentic"

The verse I recalled is in chapter IV

18. And their judges mid rulers
went to the daughters of men and
took their wives by force from their
husbands according to their choice,
and the sons of men in those days
took from the cattle of the earth, the
beasts of the field and the fowls of
the air, and taught the mixture of
animals of one species with the
other, in order therewith to provoke
the Lord ; and God saw the whole
earth and it was corrupt, for all flesh
had corrupted its ways upon earth,
all men and all animals.

From the above reminds me of "as in the days of Noah so shall it be...". Genetic engineering anyone?

I was agast after reading a article on "enviroPig" This mixture of Pig/mouse/E-coli is designed to have less phosphate waste.
Now what was that about the last days prophecy about sitting in the groves eating swines flesh and the abomination and the mouse?
Last I heard this canadian EnviroPig was heading toward approval as food.

How would you handle a neighbor like this man?...I could have told anyone how not long ago. How do you take care of a person that refuses to be a good neighbor and listen to good advice?

"If one of your countrymen becomes poor and sells some of his property, his nearest relative is to come and redeem what his countryman has sold. . . . If one of your countrymen becomes poor and is unable to support himself among you, help him as you would an alien or a temporary resident, so he can continue to live among you. . . . If one of your countrymen becomes poor among you and sells himself to you, do not make him work as a slave." Leviticus 25:25, 35, 39

"He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the alien, giving him food and clothing." Deuteronomy 10:18
"At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that year's produce and store it in your towns, so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the aliens, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied." Deuteronomy 14:28-29

Let not the poor and the alien think that, just because Yahowah promises to execute judgment on the rich, they will be excused for their own evil thoughts and deeds.

Here's an idea. Rather than pointing the finger at the international bankers and the officers of the mega-corporations, stop buying and using their products. Sell your houses(s) and stop making mortgage payments to that bank. Throw away your computer, television, home entertainment center, microwave oven, refrigerator, stove, etc., and don't buy replacements for them. Wear only what you have on right now and don't buy any more clothes. Stop using perfume, cologne, after shave, deodorant, body wash, and the like, and be natural. Don't buy or drive a car. Make do with a single pair of shoes, a single winter coat, a single change of clothes.

Does that sound extreme? It is. It also exposes the fantasy which permeates the vacuous minds of the protesters who think they're mighty warriors for the poor and oppressed.

The point is to obey God. The cause of Yahowsha is the one obedient cause. We should be joining the cause because we need God’s grace, not because we want to change some system or be linked to some romantic revolutionary cause.

If we obey Yah, we’re going to be seen as a rebel anyhow, both within christian and popular culture.

Thanks for the help brother! Much appreciated, again.

I am not sure if this is the best place so forgive me if it isn't but the immediate discussion about rich and poor and some of the points that FF and Encounterhim got me to thinking about something that has vexed me...forever but in the last few days particularly. Specifically the stunning differences in the beatitudes of MattithYahu and Luke. I know that most here have issues with Luke....but what are we to do when you have such a stunning diffence that is in the same context? I am sorry but if this is what Yahushua said...as Luke recorded it then He would have a large part of responsibility for all of the misanthropic collectivist movements that have destroyed more than 170 million people in the last century alone. There is a BIG difference between poor and poor in spirit. How can such writing be squared when you read the Tanakh....Abraham and Job come to mind...just off the top of my head....so will these men who were rich...and Iyob (Job) is the exemplar of the poor in spirit....a man who could lose everything and remain faithful to God...the fact that his wealth was less important to Him than YHWH. So...because Abraham was well fed....because Abraham was rich....and I am sure that Abraham had his share of laughter and good times....does that mean he is weeping, hungry and miserable....basically in sheol...waiting for justice? Over and over again I have heard socialists and communists use Luke and keeping in mind the hell on earth that was forced on a great portion of humanity due to the institutionalized envy of collectivist statism....I cannot accept this. I cannot embrace this. Simply put...Yahushua did not say this. How can you hate a rich person outright just because they are rich or well fed or happy? For that matter how you can you endorse and embrace a poor person merely because they are poor, hungry and miserable? This doesn't square with the histories presented in the Tanakh...the men that YHWH loved that were well off....included in that being of course Abraham, Yitzakh and Y'aqob. And of course YHWH is called the God of Abraham, Yitzakh and Y'aqob....I don't think that Da'ud was exactly crawling around in rags with his ribs sticking out...even before he was King. So as I said it doesn't square with the historical testimony. It doesn't square with what YHWH said....which is of course the WORD of YHWH...ahem...in the Tanakh....the verse that Richard brought up and also several others. And it doesn't square with two things as it pertains to Yahushua. It doesn't square with the beatitudes in MattithYahu.....and it doesn't square with the Yahushua who wasn't coming to enull or do away with Torah. So with that in mind....one of these Yahushuas does not belong. And when it comes down to it is this not just another problem with Paul? I would like your thoughts brothers and sisters.

b'Ahaba

P.S. And I am not rich....I am in all honesty poor. So if anything I should find comfort in the words of Luke....because basically according to Lukes version...I have a one way ticket to the kingdom. I am set!!!. But the fact of the matter is I know better. I don't know a single poor personally that knows YHWH....other than my wife....for that matter I don't know a single rich person....in person. To me this is all rather obvious. I want a relationship with YHWH....not a proto-Marx...with that in mind how much value can we squeeze out of Luke?

Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.

21Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.

22Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.

23Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

24But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.

25Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
YHWH's ordinances are true, and righteous altogether.

Good morning s82. Nice question. I myself can read those few verses and read into it something completely different than, Yahowsha speaking of wealth. I believe He was referring, at least to me, people that are puffed up in their pride. Thinking they are scripturally filled and have no use for any one saying other wise.

As you start with the beginning of this chapter we have Yahowsha and His men, in a cornfield taking corn for food. We are left to assume the corn was free for the taking? Now if this is so, would they take from a meger farmer with little, or were they actually taking from a farm that supplied wealth to it's owner?
When Yahowsha answered with His, David answer, I see Him in no un-certain terms telling the pharisees, "when one is hungry, one should eat." Now did Yahowsha know this field? Did He know this man(men) that planted left the ends of His field for the poor? Showing He only takes from those that follow, Torah?
I could stay in the, Book of Luke. and ask questions all day. But after skimming down in that chapter, I believe Yahowsha answers it for me.

Luke 6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

6:36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

How can one lend if one is without the lending power? Sure poor ppl can tell me all day long, "I'm poor and give the shirt from my back." Well then, you might be asking someone else for a shirt a few minutes later b/c you just gave yours away. So were you doing this to feel good for yourself, in Gods eyes, when a few minutes before that, you had a shirt. I don't really believe Gods asking the poor to continue to prove themselves by giving their material wealth away if you are poor. Could David had just as well went out and asked from food from strangers instead of taking the temples, shewbread? Sure he could have.

I don't quite know all these answers. Do we give till we are hurting? I think ppl today without Torah, believe so. And that's the reason for most of this wallstreet complaining that's happening now. I shouldn’t get started about what happens when that segment (who are often correct on policy) don’t get their way. They have been brainwashed into circling the wagons and starting revolutions.
I believe we have legitimate concerns that have to be answered in our society, but I feel they can be answered when we seek Yah through His Word. I'm still seeking, brother, and await others replys.
